Productions

MainStage Production Manual: Post-Production

Strike and Restore

See Strike language in Rehearsals section.

Grading

Production participation is evaluated by the faculty or staff member in charge of each area according to three criteria:

  1. Attendance (including readiness and promptness);
  2. Engagement; and
  3. Application/Improvement.

Students who just show up and “do their time” should not expect to receive a grade higher than a “B”, even with a perfect attendance record.  Production is an important part of your theatre education, so students are expected to actively engage in their production activities and apply their learning throughout the production process.

Archiving

The School of Theatre and Film takes photographs before opening (in some cases, before casting or rehearsals) for marketing purposes, as well as during the run of the production for archival purposes.  Generally, these photographs are available to Actors and Designers for their portfolios.  Orders may be placed with the Program Coordinator for copies of photographs.  You may need to supply storage media for digital photographs, and there may be a small fee attached in some cases.

Student Designers and Stage Managers, after submitting their work for evaluation, should maintain an archive of their work, for portfolio and interview purposes.
