Assistant Lighting Designer

  1. The assistant should attend all meetings and rehearsals as listed to record and provide notes for the Lighting Designer.
  2. Check in with the Lighting Designer each day for things to do. This will include preparing paperwork used for the production. The Assistant Designer is expected to assist the Designer in whatever capacity is needed to mount the show.
  3. Assist in focus of instruments.
  4. Tech rehearsal and Dress rehearsals - attend all and take notes for Lighting Designer. Make the “to do” list for the next day. Separate the notes into the following categories: Designer and Electrics.
  5. Opening night - you are encouraged to attend.
  6. Strike - assist in returning electrics to dark state.
