What is ArtsWork?
ArtsWork is a program of the ASU Herberger College of the Arts that supports research, programs and projects for children and the arts.  ArtsWork does not give grants, but, works to join the resources of the university with those of the community to support to enhance the lives of young people through the arts.   

How will the Bank of America gift be used?
ArtsWork will receive the $1 million endowment gift as installments over four years with the final payment to be received in 2010. This generous gift will be deposited in the ASU Foundation, and in the coming years, ArtsWork will use the interest from this account to support its mission, with a particular emphasis on developing partnerships in support of children and the arts in Central Phoenix.  ArtsWork is a program designed to harness the resources of the university in partnership with community programs to develop and sustain project partnerships to benefit young people through the arts.

My organization works with children in Central Phoenix. Can ArtsWork fund our programs?
ArtsWork is not a grant-giving organization. Bank of America endowed ArtsWork to further its programs serving children in Central Phoenix. Though ArtsWork does not grant money, it is interested in forming community partnerships and matching the university's resources with community needs. How will ArtsWork use the gift?
To achieve the gift's fullest potential, the ArtsWork Board of Directors will use the time throughout 2007 and into summer of 2008, to develop a mechanism to identify the best way to serve community needs in the long term. ArtsWork will augment its current programs that bring the arts to Central Phoenix children of and identify and build new community partnerships within Central Phoenix.

How will ArtsWork develop community partnerships to realize the goals of this gift?
The ArtsWork board, which includes ASU faculty representing all of the arts disciplines, will develop strategies to maximize the benefits of this gift.  The board will work closely with educators and program leaders from the community to identify potential projects and develop long range plans for the development and sustainability of university/community partnerships.
